Possibly realising the prospective retaliations from angry customers, officials in the telecommunictions office are carrying out a public consultation before deciding on the cell-phone-jamming plan.
Some suggest allocating buffer areas in places like the corridors outside cinema halls so that people can attend to urgent and important calls. The phone mania seems to have hit schools and colleges as well. In retribution, the Education, Science and Technology Ministry issued a notice calling on primary and middle schools to prohibit students from bringing cell phones to school.
